art changes the future, 1992/1997

The work is based on a survey of visitors to the Museum für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. The “monitor wall” consists of 36 cardboard monitors, each illuminated by a light bulb. The screens show visitors‘ answers to the question of what contemporary art means to them. Alternating with the answers are painted portraits of the visitors and, in the centre, a room of the museum.
